Foundations Geography

Classical Conversations' Foundation level students' study six subjects including world history and geography.  Studying world history and geography is achieved by memorizing the same 160 world history events each year, studying one of three different time periods and drawing maps of the area corresponding to the time periods.  For example, this year we are studying Cycle 3 - U.S. History and we are drawing the map of the U.S. with it's states, capitals, major rivers, lakes and mountain ranges labeled.  The students begin by tracing and by the end of the year are drawing their maps free-hand.

It's Presentation Time!

Each week students have an opportunity to practice oral presentation skills, ranging from simple "show-n-tell" for the younger students to more structured and prepared presentations for the older students. The goal of our presentation time is for our students to be come comfortable standing, talking, and presenting in front of their peers.
